The volume of these functions can be adjusted whilst in use, e.g while the navigation is 'speaking' you can adjust that volume with the volume buttons, once it's stopped announcing the volume buttons revert to the media playing, radio or other source. The unit maintains separate volume settings for these functions. If you do turn the radio all the way down this doesn't impact the volume of navigation directions being announced, nor the volume of the hands free phone part. There is a way using the VCDS or OBeleven to code the voice activation button to act as mute (always assuming you haven't got / don't want to use, voice activation). There is no quick way to silence the radio, other than turning it down. The idea of turning it off anyway is a bit of a miss direction: the unit is always on, your Bluetooth phone goes through it, and the navigation is constantly monitoring your direction as displayed on the multifunction display compass display, and even if you press the power button, the display is still on showing the clock. Hi Richard47 and welcome to our friendly and informative forum.Īs the unit is a combined media and navigation device you can't turn off one part of the functionality.
